About the Organizing IndustryWhat is a professional organizer?Professional organizers are people who provide information; products and assistance to help others get organized. The work is done through coaching, training, and hands-on services. There are many niches within the industry, including estate organizing, concierge services, bookkeeping and event planning. The organizing industry is growing tremendously. Television media has picked up on the growth and programs such as Clean Sweep and Mission Organization are quickly emerging. Professional Organizers have been showcased on Oprah, Good Morning America and a variety of other media.
What does a professional organizer do?Professional organizers have a vast array of services and skills they can provide. Areas of specialty include home and office organizing, event planning, relocation assistance, financial organizing, seminars/ workshops/ training, organizing computer files and making your computer a more efficient tool, project management, space planning and time management. Professional organizers create systems, solutions and information to help provide more control over ones' environment.
What can I expect for myself from “getting organized”?

About Working with Impact SolutionzHow long will it take?Since no two clients are the same, this is a difficult question to answer. Here are some factors to consider:
For many, getting organized is an overwhelming task. Using the Proactive Patience approach, we balance patience and kindness with a gentle urgency to help clients push through the project. Just like working with a personal trainer, it’s ultimately up to the client to keep appointments, be willing to make changes and be accountable to the process.
How do you charge for the service?The initial consultation is free. After that, we charge by the hour for most services. Payment is due at time of service. There is a two-hour minimum for onsite services. Impact Solutionz accepts cash, checks and credit cards via PayPal (a convenience charge may apply).
Is there a cancellation policy?A 24-hour reschedule/cancellation notice is required for all scheduled appointments. 25% of the scheduled fee will be charged if cancellation occurs less than 24-hours prior to an appointment. The purpose of this policy is two-fold: First, it allows Impact Solutionz time to move another client into the open timeslot. Second, part of getting organized for many of our clients includes accountability in areas such as procrastination, budgeting, and time management. This is a wonderful expression of reclaiming order and responsibility in their lives.
Do you have references?Yes, we are happy to provide you with references.
What about confidentiality?Your privacy is important to us! We hold all client information, written or verbal, in confidence. Any personal information provided by you to us through impactsolutionz.com, e-mail, telephone or any other form of communication would only be used to support our relationship with you. We never share or sell your personal information. In the event that we require the services of a third party to complete a project and need to share some of your personal information, we will only do so with your permission. Impact Solutionz adheres to the Code of Ethics set forth by NAPO (National Association of Professional Organizers).
Do I need to be there while you’re working?Most projects require the participation of the client to make decisions. However, there are some circumstances, including certain phases of the organizing process, when the participation of the client is not necessary. Please ask your Organizer if you have any questions regarding your availability and participation.
Supplies & productsImpact Solutionz will provide the necessary supplies to get started at the first appointment. Ongoing supply needs will be discussed then. If organizing products are needed to complete a project, the client is responsible for payment. How the products are purchased varies depending on the needs of the client. If Impact Solutionz shops for products, the client is billed at the standard hourly rate plus the cost of products. Ask your Organizer for more details.
Do I need to do anything to “get ready” to get organized?No. In order to help you, Impact Solutionz needs to see you in your “normal” environment so that we can make the best customized organizing solutions for you. Impact Solutionz treats its clients with respect and NEVER shames or condemns them.
